Trying to troubleshoot this with no luck. The plugin works and I have the most up to date version running in FL 20. The sound begins to lag only when increasing the dust and scratch. Other than that no issues. Anyone experience this, or have a fix?

Hi, I have the following problem:
I have installed Equalizer APO an Izotope Vinyl VST Plugin on windows 11 with the configuration seen in attachment.
The problem is that after a few restarts of windows in time, Vinyl started to pause the sound every 10 seconds (feels like when a streaming platform buffers :). Everything else works fine in APO (Graphic EQ, Preamplification, etc when the vst plugin is off).
I have tried uninstalling vinyl, install it again, APO Equalizer also. Tried different combination of config in configurator but no results.
Sorry if I am repeating myself, but take in consideration that at the first installation of vinyl it worked well.
Could you please advise me what else could I do?
Thank you!

Unfortunately the developer of Equalizer APO isn't very active on his project. Although I'm not sure if he could shade some light on this issue. Most issues are incompatibilities between Equalizer APO and the VST plugins. I haven't seen the one you're talking about on this forum.

If it helps or if you're interested I could tell you how VST plugins are implemented in Equalizer APO. The audio stream is routed through an instance of a VST plugin. However, this isn't the one on screen, the interface you're interacting with/on. The audio isn't changed by this one. It gives Equalizer APO parameters which the actual audio stream changing plugin is implementing. It's a bit complex but Equalizer APO works with commands so this technique of dual instances of a plugin is needed.

As you said it sound like a buffer but that obviously can't be as Windows is restarted. You have thought of that too of course. Perhaps some saved setting by the plugin itself is the cause? Would be weird though.
A bad workaround is to install the plugin everytime Windows is starting. Then again, Equalizer APO just "uses" the dll file of the plugin so nothing needs to be installed. Perhaps that's the cause, the installation of the plugin which isn't needed in the first place. A copying of the main dll file to c:\program files\equalizerapo\vstplugins should suffice. The audio engine dll (equalizerapo.dll) is loading the plugin dll. And the Configuration Editor is loading the plugin dll to show its interface.

i have the same issue with Equalizer APO 1.3.
tried to use Izotope Nectar 3 (3.6.2a) to tune my mic. it works, but the signal pauses about every 30 sec for 1 second. the issue remains even if the plugin is actually bypassed but powered on in the Equalizer APO.
