The Essential Cyril Neville 1994-2007 is a portrait of an artist who
represents the rich musical heritage of New Orleans. He's a Neville
Brother, a Meter and a Voice of the Wetlands. All the influences are
there, blues, R&B, funk, even hip-hop. Many of the songs were written
by Cyril, including his tribute to Haiti in "Ayiti." Cyril doesn't shy
away from covers in this collection. Check out his funky version of
Hendrix's "Foxey Lady" and his beautiful rendition of Dylan's "The
Times They Are A Changing." Cyril selected many of the songs on the
release and it is a genuine reflection of this great musician and the
city that shaped him.

Cyril has many reasons to celebrate 2010. He is moving back home to
the New Orleans area from Austin. Like many people, Cyril was
displaced after Katrina devastated his home. He will be touring with
extensively through 2010 with the band Galactic, his own band Tribe 13
and The Voice of The Wetlands. The youngest Neville Brother is finding
his own voice and M.C. Records is proud to be a part of that.
