Now on to a more serious matter:
Our free classes have also been well attended at the Maison, DBA, and
the Spotted Cat Music Club. Please keep in mind, however, that these
are bars, and there is a one-drink-minimum per set. My grandpa, may he
rest in peace, believed that nothing in life is free.....and it's
true.
We've had our first (oh so expected) talk with the management of one
of the clubs about dancers feeling a "sense of entitlement" to come in
and not support. (This does not apply to everyone.) If you don't drink
alcohol, that's ok; there are other ways to show support. I know
buying a $4 coke or water is not the most appealing of prospects, but
the bar gives 20% to live music. Automatically, you are supporting
both the establishment and the band.
Also, if you're looking for practice music, buy a CD from the band.
