Steps to reproduce:
1. Enable autoscrolling (set ‘general.autoScroll’ to ‘true’).
2. Add a browser event for AlertActive.
3. Middle-click on an empty part of a page.
Result: The sound set in step 2 is played.
Expected result: No sound.

This did not happen in Firefox 3.5. Is there a filter I could add that
would prevent this?

Thank you.

Sorry for late response, it's Chinese New Year here.
Firefox 3.6 has changed the autoscroller element from <popup> to <panel>, which invoke an AlertActive event with popupshown.

I'm not sure whether the change was good, but we can use this filter to avoid the sound:
AlertActive&event.originalTarget.id!=='autoscroller'
