Brother Charvonia,

I'd like to once again thank you for meeting with me to hear my proposal for saving our building. As I mentioned to you during our meeting, I am confident that the Brethren can not only ensure that our Lodge survives, but that it thrives and becomes the beacon of light in the community that Brethren who built it intended it to be.

I am however concerned with the turn of event that took place during this meeting. We started the meeting being told that Grand Lodge is "here to help," and ended the meeting by being told that you will be "presenting the plan to the executive committee for approval." Based on some of your questions and recommendations made during the meeting, I am not sure that you are fully aware of the situation at our Lodge. It felt as though all your information was coming from a single person rather than the Hall Association board, which is comprised of the Brethren found worthy by the Lodge to be elected to serve in this capacity.

While I am aware of the requirements to present our contracts to the Masonic Properties Committee, I am not sure why/if a presentation needs to be made on our behalf to the Executive Committee at this time. As I mentioned earlier, I do not feel confident that you have all the facts necessary to make this presentation on our behalf. If such a presentation is to be made, I strongly feel that it is I who should be presenting the proposed solution.

As I'm sure you are well aware, time is of the essence here. If an approval is required (kindly point to supporting documentation if this is the case, and forgive my ignorance in this aspect of the procedure), I do not mind making the trip up north to present the proposal and answer any questions the committee members might have.

Fraternally,

Armen Mardirousi, PM
President
North Hollywood Masonic Temple Association, Inc.

RW Charvonia,

I tried calling you on your cell but got voicemail. I will be unavailable tonight. Can I call you tomorrow to further discuss some of my concerns with the Hall Association in general and this proposal in particular? If so, what's a good time for you? As of right now, I can call you tomorrow anytime before 6pm.

Your proposal, while not specifically requiring EC approval, is one that I strongly suggested be presented to them so as to help to prevent future misunderstandings or other problems.

Your proposal presents a direct conflict of interest that needs to be properly weighed and dislcosed. As time is of the essence, I offered to present it to the Executive Committee on the 26th.
