Help for new subscriber

A friend of mine in the neighborhood would like to subscribe to this nogli-news google group, but can’t figure out how.  I’ve been a member of the group for such a long time, I can’t remember how I did it.  Can someone help with instructions?  Many thanks.

Here it is , Type in "how to join google groups" in the browser . It
will show take you to WIKI HOW - google groups,browser all,9steps with
pictures.. If your friend is as smart as a 5 TH grader she can do it!
If not she needs a professional .On another note - my gmail spell
check has been on the blink for months. Any one out there that has
some advice?

The neighbor may be having the same trouble I did, it took 6 months or so for someone to approve my membership. Until then you can read but not participate in the discussions. At the time I think it was because there was not a regular moderator, not sure if that has worked itself out.
