Happy New Year from Hamilton Arts Collective! We're looking forward to a busy 2011 and we hope you'll join us in supporting the arts in Hamilton this year.
The Hamilton Gallery is mounting a new show opening Friday, February 4th with work by guest artist Melani Douglas and featured artist Crista Gilbert. As always, the gallery will also feature new work by member artists. For more information, visit the gallery blog. The gallery also hosts a number of workshops and other events during the month, which are detailed on the schedule below.
Just across Hamilton Avenue from the gallery, the Hamilton Theater will be hosting a diverse schedule of events in February, including local music, poetry readings and the launch party for Baltimore record label Loveasaurus Records! See the schedule below for more details.

Loveasaurus "EatAHeart" Release Potluck and Concert
Friday, February 4, 2011 - 5:00pm at the Hamilton Theater HAC is hosting a concert celebrating the start of Loveasaurus Recs, a volunteer-run community music collective! Featuring performances by MacGregor Burns, Great Taproot, Her Fantastic Cats, Ike Shark Inc., Jeff Bothe, We Used To Be Family, Jeff Brunell, Totem, Bow-legged Gorilla, and Sea Couch.
Admission is $5 or FREE for anyone who brings a dish of food to share.
*There will be a bike parade before the potluck starting at 3pm, meeting in front of Penn Station* ALL ARE WELCOME TO JOIN!

CascadeKidz Keeps A Kid Alive
Saturday, February 12- 7:00pm at the Hamilton Theater CascadeKidz are organizing a benefit showcase to raise money for Keep A Kid Alive . There will be t-shirts, bracelets and refreshments for sale as well!
The Keep A Kid Alive organization is dedicated to providing desperately needed medical care and health aid like food and clean water to families in Africa and India. The showcase will feature vocal, poetry, dance and inspirational drama performances from local artists and students!
Admission is $8

Spring Student Show at Hamilton Gallery!
Once a year, the Hamilton Gallery devotes its entire space to showcasing the work of young artists in and around Hamilton. This popular show brings together students from different schools in the greater Hamilton community to feature their diverse and impressive artwork. This year, the gallery will present work by students from Hamilton Elementary/Middle and City Neighbors charter school. Mark your calendars for the opening reception, which will take place at the gallery on Friday, March 4 from 6pm -9pm. The show will be on display throughout the month of March.

Donate to the Building Fund!The HAC needs your help to buy it's building. We've raised thousands of dollars and come a long way to purchasing our building at 5440 Harford Road but we still
need your help. We need to raise an additional $1,800 to complete the downpayment. Please consider donating to create a permanent home for the arts in Hamilton. Donors of $500 or more will be honored on the buildings commemorative founders plaque.
