As you know – in every family, the one time the family comes together to bond as a unit is with Me. If you have studied at Namagunga anytime from the 40’s, then we have met. Many of you know me as a place you sit to have your meals. The Dining Room. To the Namagunga girls I am a symbol of unity.
I caved earlier this year following years of active patronage, but
with very little refurbishment. My current girls have had to use a makeshift
structure and firewood cooking place to have meals and to bond. Sad sad sad so
sad for me to watch helplessly on.
Much as I would want you to see me now and take a bow, you would stand in disgrace.
The school management obviously chose to abandon their other projects and look to funding my refurbishment. The school management also took advantage of this window to extend the seating capacity of the Dining Room from 700 girls to 1000 girls.
This is costing My school a previously unplanned Ugx 300,000,000.
My Old Girls, heritage is everything to you - your successes are founded on the pillar of our great school. Do intervene and ease the burden, in order that the School Management can focus on spending its money to educate the girls, so as to uphold the School Heritage.
I hope that having seen the determined efforts of the School Management and Parents to restore Me to my girls, you the Old Girls that I have faithfully served for over 70 years, and also well-wishers can dig into your resources to help support the effort. The Management and Parents have tried. But this bill still needs to be cleared.
