I saw this as well and after reading the tweets about the numbers, I think it may be a hoax put on by the folks in NC. The previous tweets from the account associated with it take you to the FB page, which is nothing but folks from the Carolina’s. I then did a whois, and it isn’t Google, it’s a guy in India.
I wouldn’t put a whole lot of stock in it. Might be a ploy.
Just a thought guys.
All,
If anyone is still alive out there, there is a site that says Chanute Kansas has the best chance to win the GoogleFiber.
Duluth, by the way is ranked third. Their mayor must have jumped in the river again.
Here is the site: Fiber For All
On another note, if anyone knows someone who has the skill set of Linux, php, .asp, and joomla, and other related languages, please send them to me as I am looking for someone to help with our current major upgrade.
We are looking for someone for Bayoubuzz.
Thanks and hope all is well and that everyone is surviving BP.

That site was created by the team in Kansas similar to the NOLA one
who are pushing for their city to get Google Fiber. They have also had
pushes on Facebook and Twitter with polls that show an unrealistic,
overabundance of support for Kansas.
I don't think there is much to worry about there. Google will pick it
back up when they need a PR boost.
I know we're all trying to keep the dream alive though.
