For those who are interested, Senator Mary Landrieu who chairs the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship released this statement on the broadband plan which the FCC released today.  This is a good summary of the Plan from the perspective of small busineses.

 

I believe that the Administration’s approach to broadband is to make it available to as many people as possible for the lowest price   While much of the focus is rural, the plan also deals with underserved areas.  In short, given the FCC’s release, it would seem to me that any decision by Google would necessary   contemplate the FCC’s Plan.  If anything, Google might want to be in sync and take advantage of the FCC’s plan.  Just food for thought…..
