Noe News is Good News, Welcome Back Edition

Dear Noe Families,
Happy New Year! I’m rested and ready to get back to school… but not until TUESDAY! Since my own daughter didn’t realize that Monday was a teacher work day, I thought I’d better send this note out on Sunday. J Students return to school on January 8; teachers will be in the building on Monday for Gold Day.
Here’s some exciting news from parent Pam Kalbfleisch:
Welcome back, I hope your winter break was terrific. Now that you’re back to work, here’s something to brighten your day – several Noe students are shown in a commercial currently airing on HBO and HBO Family! The commercial is promoting the documentary, “The Music In Me: The Leopards Take Manhattan”. It’s about the Louisville Leopard Percussionists (several of them are Noe students) and their director, Diane Downs (a JCPS teacher at Norton Elementary). The show premieres on Thursday, January 24th at 7:15 PM on HBO (eastern USA) and HBO HD, and Sunday, January 27th on HBO Family (eastern USA). HBO is sponsoring a premiere gala party for all current and past Leopards, their families, friends, and supporters at the Louisville Palace Theatre on January 23rd.

You can see my daughter, Alicia Kalbfleisch, along with other Noe students Cyr Wilson, Eliza Scruton, Lydia Grossman, Dakota Elzy, Parker McGuffey, Helen Gustafson, Price McGuffey, Brenna Williams, Sarah Willett and Johnique Ison in the commercial. Nailah Williams will be in the show too.
This is very exciting for the kids (parents too!).

The first week back from break is calmer than usual; however, the activity calendar below may not be completely accurate, as some teachers didn’t update Dr. Sayre before winter break and information may have changed. If your child participates in an after-school activity and tells you they have a practice that isn’t listed here, believe them!
