PARENTS - Your Input Is Valued in our Planning
The Noe Middle School Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) is asking for
parent participation in revising the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan
(CSIP) for 2009-2010. The ILT has done preliminary work to review the
current plan and provide reorganization input. We also have input from
meetings last spring to consider. This week and during the month of
October, we will be meeting after school to review data, gain more input,
and draft our revised plan. Parents are encouraged to participate in this
committee work.
Meetings that will focus on the development of the CSIP are tentatively
scheduled for the following dates - all 2:45-4pm: 9/24, 10/8, 10/15, We may
add a meeting on 10/22 if needed.
Parents are also welcome to send input to the Principal, Ms. McDowell, via

Currently, most of our parent input for the plan comes from the
Comprehensive School Survey, which JCPS asks you to fill out each fall. We
gain input from the SBDM Council parents and the PTSA Board parents. A few
parents also serve on the SBDM Committees (Technology, Library, and Budget).
Please contact Ms. McDowell if you wish to serve on one of those three
committees for this year.
The CSIP is currently made up of several components - one for each core
content area (Math, Science, Social Studies, Reading, Writing, Arts &
Humanities, Practical Living) + Parental and Community Involvement, Academic
Support, and Safety. If you wish to provide input regarding a specific
area, please contact Ms. McDowell. It may be possible to work with the
component manager in the specific area of your interest.
The CSIP Committee's recommended plan will be discussed at the October 12th
SBDM Council meeting and again at a special Council meeting on October 26th.
PTA Members Rock!
Our PTSA membership drive is still underway, and we need your help to reach
our membership goal this year! Right now we stand at 615 members. Our goal
is 1250, so we have some work to do!
Dues are $5.00 per member. Students may, and are encouraged, to join the
PTSA. Membership entitles the student member to free admission to our two
membership dances. Our first dance will be held on October 23, so now is the
time for your student to join if he or she hasn't!
Contest deadlines have been extended. All students who join with 3 members
to their credit by Sept. 30 will be entered into a drawing for one of three
Noe t-shirts. All students who join with 5 members to their credit by
October 30 will be entered into a drawing for a $25 Target gift card.
Joining the PTSA is one of the simplest things you can do to help make Noe
the best middle school in JCPS! It is also an excellent way to keep up with
what is going on at school since those middle schoolers don't always share
information so freely. Joining does not obligate you to give of your time,
but we will be happy to put you to work if you would like to volunteer also.
Please consider joining today!
A membership form is attached for your convenience. You may return it to
school with your student. Please securely attach all payments to your form.
