Welcome back to Noe! We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday, and that you’re ready for four of the busiest weeks in the year!
Monday is group picture day! Since the list of groups taking photos was so long I’ve attached it to this email, along with an order form to get a picture for your child. If your child wears a uniform for their group, they should be in that uniform for the photo unless you’ve been instructed otherwise by a coach or activity leader. If you can’t open Microsoft Word documents: every school club and activity group will be taking photos EXCEPT the musical groups (bands, choruses, orchestra), Governor’s Cup Team, 6th Grade Academic Team, and Dance Team (those pictures will be taken on Dec. 14 during the all-school concert) – and Track, Drama, and Golf, which will be taken later in the year. If you’re not sure, send the uniform just in case!
Seventh grade transition night is this Tuesday, November 27, at 6:30PM. Last week’s calendar included the flyer about this event, so I didn’t send it again this week. If you have questions about it, contact your child’s teacher or the school office.
Tours are in full swing this month and next for 5th grade families considering Noe for next year, so if your child tells you about seeing younger friends or neighbors in the building, that’s probably why. Many teams are also having field trips within the next three weeks – several will be seeing Seussical at YPAS, while others are going farther afield than across the street – but because they are not school-wide activities they will not be listed in this newsletter. If you are uncertain about a particular field trip, contact your child’s teacher for more information.
Just to brag a little… Noe will be on TV this month! Our choirs were featured on “Our Kids!,” a JCPS show that will air on KET2 Sunday, December 2 at 11:30AM as well as several times throughout the month of December on Metro TV (Insight Channel 25.) Check the Metro TV website for exact show times. Congratulations to Ms. Paxton and our singers!
Believe it or not, this coming Friday, November 30, is mid-way through the third grading period, even though we only received report cards for the second grading period last week. If you have concerns, don’t wait – contact your child’s teachers NOW to get your questions answered and to get your child the help needed to be successful at our school.
