A "Plastic" Green Thumb Needed!
A few years ago, Noe purchased several plastic decorative trees, plants, etc. to use in the building, mostly on the stage for ceremonies and other school events. Through much use and abuse (we've certainly gotten our money's worth out of them), they've begun to look pretty shabby. In an effort to save the funds that it would cost to buy all new greenery, we'd like to save those funds if we could find someone who would like to take on the task of re-furbishing what we have. (We've got all of the "parts". The branches have just come out the molds, some of the wicker baskets have busted, etc.) If you know of someone that has that decorative talent, please ask them to give John Gribbins a call at 485-8055. Thanks!
Thank you – Thank You – Thank You
Thank you from the PTSA Board to all the wonderful volunteers who donated delicious goodies for the Teacher/Staff Breakfast and Lunch on Conference Day. Their efforts to accomodate as many parents as possible for conferences makes going out to grab a bite to eat nearly impossible. We are pleased to help out by letting them sample the goodies of some of our talented chefs. Thanks to those who donated, served and helped clean up. If we did not catch you this time, keep an eye out for Conference Day in the Spring as well as Teacher Appreciation Day!
We extend a hearty thank you to those who helped put on the PTSA Membership Dance which was October 10th. It would not be possible to do this without lots of hands! If you are interested in volunteering for the next dance, please contact Maria Sorolis at soro...@insightbb.com. The next dance will not be until after the holidays, so you have time to plan!
Showcase of Schools is October 24th and 25th

Your child will be learning at school about a PTA art program called “Reflections.” You may be familiar with it from elementary school. It provides students an opportunity to submit an original creative piece in a competition. Judging occurs first at Noe and then students work may progress to a regional and state level for judging. The creative piece may be literature, musical composition, dance, visual arts, photography or film/video production. Creative pieces are due October 15th. Fall Festival, November 21st
The PTSA is gearing up for this year’s Fall Festival which will be held from 5:30-8:30 on Nov. 21, 2008. This is always a huge event at Noe—we serve a meal, hold a silent auction, and each team sponsors a booth with a game, activity, or snack. We are in the planning stages right now, and one of our biggest jobs is putting together the silent auction. If you can help us at all in soliciting donated items for the silent auction, we would greatly appreciate it. If you are a business owner or know of a business that may be interested in donating, please print out the solicitation letter attached to the newsletter (FF Letter 2008) and give it to them. The Noe PTSA is a 501( c )3 non-profit organization, so all donations are full tax-deductible charitable contributions and can be reported as such for tax purposes.
Additionally families will be receiving information soon about team baskets and that the team baskets benefit their child’s team directly – rather than the school or any other related organization. Also, remind them that many of the teams sponsor booths or activities at the Festival that will also benefit the team directly.
The Fall Festival Committee is more than happy to pick up any donations…our phone numbers and e-mail addresses are on the letter. Thanks, as always, for your generous support of our students! If you would like to volunteer to assist with the festival, please contact Stephanie Brown at stephan...@insightbb.com
