The Jefferson County Board of Education (JCBE) has officially kicked off its search for a new superintendent of the Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS). On March 9, the board met for a little over two hours with its search firm, McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C. to establish the parameters for the selection process, including a timeline and the desired characteristics for the next superintendent.
It is now time for the search firm to meet with stakeholder groups and gain ideas for what those groups are seeking in a leader. The results of these community input sessions are scheduled to be shared with the board on April 11.
It is important that the parents are heard in this discussion. The PTA has four (4) times, and each session is scheduled to last an hour:
- Monday, March 28, NOON at VanHoose Education Center, First Floor Conference Room, bring your own lunch
- Monday, March 28, Community Forum, 7 PM at Gheens, Flex Room A
- Tuesday, March 29, NOON at Gheens Flex Room A, bring your own lunch
