Dear Noe Parents,

This week, our 7th and 8th grade choir members will proudly represent us at the American Choral Director’s Regional Convention.  Hundreds of choir directors from our 13-state region will hear our students perform on Friday afternoon – we are the only middle school from Kentucky performing.  All our choir students 6th – 8th grade will also be performing with the University of Louisville Choir at the Kentucky Center on Friday night.  This is quite an honor, and as an ex-choir director, I also know it’s a HUGE amount of work for our students and their director, Ms. Paxton.  Congratulations on this feather in Noe’s cap!

I’d also like to congratulate those students who’ve been performing at various JCPS elementary schools with the “Noe Road Show.”  These members of the dance and theater programs performed at my elementary school last week, and the students LOVED them!  Noe is doing a real service to younger students by sharing their skills at the same time they teach Arts and Humanities core content in a fun and entertaining way.  Great job, Ms. Bannister and performers!

Thursday, March 6 is Spring Picture Day!  Don’t forget to check your child’s backpack for TWO order forms… one for an individual photo, another for a group shot with up to four friends from their team.  If you have a little time to spare on Thursday, Anna Kidwell may still be looking for volunteers – please contact her directly to help at alki...@insightbb.com.

Report cards also go home on Thursday, so you’ll be able to celebrate your child’s successes over the long weekend (or use the extra time to catch up on class work).  Remember, there is no school on Friday, March 7 as teachers spend the day in Professional Development – nearly all of them will be working OUTSIDE of Noe on Friday, so find out what to study beforehand!

Noe is celebrating March Madness with an attendance competition.  Each day a team has over 96% attendance they’ll score 2 points, and 100% attendance scores 3 points.  On March 31, the winning team will have a “shoot around” afternoon in the gym.  Don’t send your child to school sick, but do what you can to support this attendance effort!
