Is anyone else having problems with lost drones? Sometimes they don't come back if you send them out to record stuff. But there are also other things that keep happening to my Sims and drones disappearing or getting lost. I think I have had to buy about 4 replacement drones now? Not to mention, the lost video that the drones had collected.
1. Left drone at home and went to one of the festivals. Instead of leaving the festival, just bought a new drone. Used it to record and then when it was time to go home, you can't "travel" with the drone. It won't teleport with you. Tried to put it in my inventory but it said I couldn't do that because my sim didn't own the drone so, I had to leave the drone behind.
4. NO IDEA. The drone just cannot be found in my Sims apartment. Her husband's drone is still there and so is her child's but hers is GONE. Searched all over the apartment and can't find it. They recently went on vacation to the Outdoor Retreat location so I even went back there to search for it. Found all the tents and other items they left there, but no drone.
Oh my god, yes! Can this please get fixed. I sent my drone out to follow someone and when it said the video was done, my drone never came back. I searched the neighborhood but can't find it. That is a lost drone AND lost video footage!
I'm glad I'm not the only one. It's just very frustrating since I have been using the drones extensively since Get Famous came out. Would be nice if there was some kind of drone retrieval tool or something.
Yesl I have renamed all my drones. Plus, it's not just going out to film footage that gets them lost for me. There have been other incidents that lead to losing a drone as I posted in the OP. So, I was just wondering if there were other kinds of reported problems like that.
Though in two of my incidents, it wasn't about them getting lost and not being able to find them. One it just puffed away. Another, I "bought" a new one while I was out in a community lot and when I tried to put it back in my inventory to send my sim home, it would not allow me to put it into inventory. It said I did not OWN it so I couldn't take it. Had to leave it there and I wonder if it's still sitting there on the street. I don't remember where that was now. But, maybe I'll run across it again at some point but it won't matter if it doesn't let me put it in my inventory. LOL
@Jennz75, please fill out a Bug Report on this if you have not already done so! It would be really helpful for them especially since you have had multiple problems with drones but due to different causes/instances. You can post your bug report in the Bug Report section here:
Agricultural drones allow farmers to monitor crop and livestock conditions from the air to keep watch for potential problems and help optimize field management. There are several functions that farmers and other agribusiness owners can use agricultural drone services for, including:
Depending on the type of information or task required of them, various sensors, camera lenses, hooks, sprayers and even small buckets to collect samples can be attached to drones.4 Data gathered by the drone streams back to a tablet or computer, providing useful information and photos about land, crops and livestock.5
Before ag drone technology, many farmers relied on satellite imagery from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for aerial views of their properties.9 While these images are high quality, they typically could only zoom in so far, and it could take weeks before the images were available to view.10
Today, basic drones can scan large plots in shorter periods than larger manned aircraft, often in a single flight.11 Plus, drones can more easily and economically fly multiple times during the season.
In addition to the time savings, high-resolution drone imagery offers more insights compared to more pixelated satellite images.12 Farmers and ranchers can compile data from drones and get a clearer picture of crop growth, health and soil moisture, enabling them to make more informed decisions.13 When every dollar counts, getting better information while saving money could help your business.
Safety is often a primary concern for agribusiness, and ag drones have the potential to help improve this in critical ways. For example, if a tract of agricultural land is potentially dangerous or difficult to travel, drones can be used to map the area rather than send workers or surveyors. Additionally, after a storm, agribusiness owners can use drones to assess wind, fire or hail damage first, protecting worker safety and helping to speed up the claim process.
The same is true for monitoring livestock. For example, if you suspect some of your livestock is sick or injured, drones can help you track their movement and potentially spot lethargic animals who may need help.14 Drones equipped with thermal imagery can be used to check livestock temperatures, which can indicate illness or infection within the herd.15
Rather than spraying an entire field, which can lead to a negative environmental impact, agriculture drones for spraying can apply spot treatments of pesticides and fertilizers.16 This can help reduce agricultural runoff and chemical drift, benefiting nearby crops and the soil. Using drones for spot jobs in place of large full-field sprayers or crop dusters can also help reduce air-polluting emissions, as well as decrease input costs for farmers.
Farming drones can be one way to help reduce risk to your agribusiness. Drones may help businesses improve their return on investment with data that helps owners reduce operating costs and improve efficiency and yields. Be sure to check state and federal regulations regarding the use and registration of a drone in your area.

During the inter-war period the development and testing of unmanned aircraft continued. In 1935 the British produced a number of radio-controlled aircraft to be used as targets for training purposes. It's thought the term 'drone' started to be used at this time, inspired by the name of one of these models, the DH.82B Queen Bee. Radio-controlled drones were also manufactured in the United States and used for target practice and training.
Reconnaissance UAVs were first deployed on a large scale in the Vietnam War. Drones also began to be used in a range of new roles, such as acting as decoys in combat, launching missiles against fixed targets and dropping leaflets for psychological operations.
Following the Vietnam War other countries outside of Britain and the United States began to explore unmanned aerial technology. New models became more sophisticated, with improved endurance and the ability to maintain greater height. In recent years models have been developed that use technology such as solar power to tackle the problem of fuelling longer flights.

A remote-controlled drone prototype based on a B-17 Flying Fortress airframe takes off from Hilo Naval Air Station in Hawaii 6 August 1946, to fly to Muroc Army Air Field, California, remotely controlled by United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) personnel nearby. This 2,600-mile journey involved two of these prototypes, taking almost 15 hours and setting a new endurance record for remote controlled aircraft.
