Theonly thing I can think of is that this model of Dell Precision was not tested in the Fall Creator update back in OCT17 by Dell. Drivers were not updated, so either some other driver might work or there is no telling if something could hose the drivers all together. It also could be possible that Windows 10 is not supported for this machine all together.

Another possibility is that someone could have plugged something into the USB ports causing Windows to flake out for I/O device drivers. I did one more test and was able to read/write a flash drive, but not a desktop scanner or other brand/model keyboard and mouse.

I was having this same issue, just with a different model of keyboard/mouse (Dell machine and wireless keyboard/mouse combo) and after uninstalling the KB4074588 update like michellelieske suggested, the issue was resolved. I was able to remote into the machines and uninstall that way. My best guess is that it was a registry change made by the patch that caused the issue.

The issue was that most USB devices would not be recognized, as well as the touch screen would not work. The USB devices would return a code 28. For example, plugging in a mouse would cause the red light on it to appear for several seconds before turning off. I had tried disabling selective suspend by editing the registry and a lot of other unsuccessful items.

Hey all. I had the same problem - scrolling wouldn't work on my magic mouse in Widows 10. Run the Apple Software Update app from the start menu. There is a hardware driver update from Apple that fixes the problem. Install it, restart your computer and the scrolling will work properly. It worked for me anyway. I'm running El Capitan, Windows 10 and Boot Camp 6 on a MacBook Pro, Mid 2015.

I have this problem with my Magic Mouse 2, the rechargeable one. I downloaded the drivers from BootCamp, installed the DPInst.exe driver and......nothing, didn't work. I can use every function except up/down scroll.

This might help someone. OK this is how I fixed my problem in Windows 10 Boot Camp on MacBook Pro 2016. Apple Magic Mouse recognized, paired but kept disconnecting almost immediately if it connected at all. The problem was related to the Power Management under Bluetooth Radio, Properties in Device Manager. I had to uncheck 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power'. This has worked for me I'm relieved to say ?

Doesn't work for me. After installing AppleWirelessMouse64.exe my Magic Mouse 2 does not scroll. Upon further investigation it is still using the Microsoft mouse driver from 2006(!) and I do not see the Apple Mouse driver in the hardware list. I'm stumped.

You might want to check with Microsoft to see if they will make a driver available for a third party (in this case Apple) mouse. I doubt that Apple would do so as it is their brand mouse working on their brand Mac OS and computer.

Please use System requirements to install Windows on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support to download drivers appropriate for your Mac year/model and Boot Camp: Solve Windows support software installation problems - specifically see the section - Reinstall a specific driver.

I got two laptops which share keyboard, mouse and monitor using a kvm-switch. One laptop runs Windows XP and works perfectly. The other one running Windows 7, however does not recognize keyboard and mouse.

I made the hidden devices visible and deleted the unused ones. After the reboot the keyboard and the mouse work. Windows 7 tries to find the 'missing' drivers and upon failing deactivates the devices which renders them unusable again.

From the start menu open 'Devices and Printers', right click your computer and select 'Device installation settings', then I normally select 'Install driver software from Windows Update if it is not found on my computer'.

I had exactly the same issue - which hit me when I was troubleshooting an issue with Samsung Kies software which was not detecting my Galaxy S2 phone correctly. I could sense something was wrong with USB so tried to uninstall and re-install my USB drivers. What is so weird is that everything seemed to be working at first, but then the keyboard and mouse stopped working. Some USB based devices did work which was so weird.

I was seeing a few items that would simply not update drivers. The items that would not work were my PS-2 KVM, the MP610 printer in-bulit USB hub, an external USB audio device (USB turntable). But the USB Controllers were detected and seemed to be working. One other issue was that on startup my PC is not giving me options for pressing F8.

Anyway copying the missing USB.Inf files fixed the keyboard/mouse and other devices. I'll re-post also if my Kies and boot up issues get's fixed. Thank heavens I had an old PS2 mouse and keyboard handy.

The drivers installed easily on my machine at work. Unfortunately, they will not install on my computer at home. When I double click on the Setup.exe, it asks me if I want to install it, and of course I click on "Yes", but nothing happens. When I say nothing happens, I mean nothing happens; it appears that it doesn't even try to install. The same thing happens when I right click on the setup.exe and select run as administrator.

Upon looking up your mouse, I see that A4Tech doesn't offer a driver for anything newer than Vista 32-bit. But the Windows driver package they offer DOES contain Windows 2003 64-bit and XP 64-bit drivers, so MAYBE one of those will work.

If you can't acquire a 64-bit driver for Windows 7, you could try the freeware X-Mouse Button Control. It will let you program the functions of the various buttons. I'm not sure how it will handle the dual scroll wheels though.

Had this problem after installing the latest Windows 10 update. Seem to have a problem with the touchpad and external mouse I use. Periodically and unprovoked the cursor on screen will click and move around vertically. The only way to stop this is if I hold a finger on the touchpad. I've reinstalled & updated the drivers, ran latest windows updates, reinstalled Windows 10, used a different wireless mouse. No remedy. Reached out to Microsoft since they corrected the issue aftera previous update but it's appeared again. After reaching out to Microsoft support, they suggest:

"With the PC that you have, the touchpad driver for Windows 10 is not available, the touchpad will only be listed as downloadable if we change the version of Windows from HP website to Windows 8.1 so meaning that there's a compatibility issue between the touchpad's driver and the version of Windows you are using right now, so here's my recommendation instead, please get in touch with HP."

Are you facing this issue after an update? -- This error has appeared after a larger Windows 10 update (8 months ago as well as within the past 4-6 weeks) Which is likely a sign that drivers for the touchpad are needing an update. This isn't something that I can create and apply as a patch on my end as they need to come from HP.

How long are you facing this issue? This issue was ongoing about 8 months ago until it was resolved by reinstalling Windows 10 and updating the touchpad drivers. Then it's appeared recently but nothing I've done on my own or with Microsoft has corrected it.

Have you tried to do any changes in the settings? Somewhat vague question as there's settings for a lot of things. To work best as a team, will you clarify? I've diabled the touchpad, checked for Windows updates and touchpad driver updates. I've adjusted the sensitivity of touchpad. Tried only using touchpad and no external wireless mouse. No relef yet.

Hello, I'm not very experienced with this kind of stuff and I just made an account to ask about this issue specifically because I'm pretty desperate, I've been dealing with this problem for 2 years and haven't been able to find a fix to this day, the problem is that whenever I restart my computer after a graphics card driver update I end up with really bad mouse lag/freezing, whenever I move my cursor it freezes for a second every 3-4 seconds, this affects some games that become unplayable because of it, some games are not affected by it but it's rare, other stuff such as videos are also affected, by the time I started having this issue I didn't thought of doing a system restore or rolling back drivers so I ended up stuck with the problem

I'm recently making a post about this even though I've had this issue for years because I thought I just got rid of it recently, I moved from Windows 10 to Windows 7 and with the help of a friend all drivers were reinstalled, the mouse lag was gone but I was still having issues since the driver that was installed was outdated and couldn't run certain games, I had decided to update the drivers which caused the same issue, thankfully I did a restore point and I'm not dealing with the issue right now but I am pretty stuck, I've tried several driver updates and versions, no matter what they always give me the same issue, currently I am stuck with a Standard VGA Graphics Adapter and I don't know how I can update to a driver that doesn't give me mouse issues, a friend told me that maybe I should get an older AMD driver update but I know very little of this and I'm not sure what to try
