"Ghar More Pardesiya" is a song from the 2019 Bollywood film Kalank. The song is sung by Shreya Ghoshal and composed by Pritam Chakraborty. The lyrics were penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The accompanying video features Madhuri Dixit, Alia Bhatt, and Varun Dhawan. A radio edit was also released, with Vaishali Mhade providing supporting vocals. "Ghar More Pardesiya" was mixed and mastered by Shadab Rayeen at Newedge in Mumbai. It was arranged and programmed by Prasad Sashte and the choreography was done by Remo D'Souza in a classical style.[1]

The video was released on the official YouTube page of Zee Music Company on 19 March 2019. The audio version was also released simultaneously across various audio platforms including Spotify, Saavn, Gaana, Amazon Prime Music, Zee5, Wynk Music, iTunes, Apple Music, and others.[2]

The video features Madhuri Dixit, Alia Bhatt, and Varun Dhawan. It involves Dixit singing a classical Ramayana bhajan and training a group of dancers, while Bhatt and Dhawan are seen roaming around a fair depicting the Ramayana story.[3][4]

The song debuted on the Mirchi Music Top 20 countdown on 30 March 2019 in 6th position. It rose to 3rd position in the next few weeks and stayed in the chart for 4 weeks, out of which it was in Top 5 for more than 3 consecutive weeks.

Kalank may not have had its red carpet moment five years ago, but The Academy's belated recognition has sparked a renewed appreciation for the film. This act serves as a reminder that artistic merit can transcend time, and even the most overlooked gems can eventually find their place in the spotlight.

Alia responded to this honour by sharing The Academy's post on her Instagram Story, adding red heart and sun emojis to express her happiness.
Directed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank also stars Madhuri Dixit Nene, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Varun Dhawan, and Sonakshi Sinha. Produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, the film, despite its hype and extensive promotions, failed to impress the audience.

She last featured in Karan Johar's directorial Rocky Rani Kii Prem Kahaani alongside Ranveer Singh. The film was a huge box office success.

The song features Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan along with the ageless and graceful Madhuri Dixit. Sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Vaishali Mhade, the track celebrates love in all its glory. The 3.15 minute-long video shows, Ramleela in progress, wherein Alia and Varun can be seen walking through the crowd smitten by the essence of their surroundings.

The song was teased on Sunday by Alia Bhatt, who shared a short clip from the song on her Instagram account. In the caption, she mentioned how the song kept her awake several nights.

Alia's character Roop took the internet by storm and got all the much-needed appreciation. Pandit Birju Maharaj brought his prowess in Kathak onto the big screen with collaborations with directors such as Satyajit Ray and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and actors like Kamal Haasan and Madhuri Dixit.

In addition to being a Kathak dancer, Pandit Birju Maharaj was also a trained classical vocalist. He had composed the music, sang and choreographed two dance sequences in the Satyajit Ray film Shatranj ke Khilari. His notable work in films includes the choreography for songs such as Kaahe Chhed Mohe and Mohe Rang Do Laal, among others. He also won the National Film Award for Best Choreography for Unnai Kaanaathu.

As a descendant of the Maharaj family of Kathak dancers, Pandit Birju Maharaj trained under his father, guru Acchan Maharaj. For his remarkable contribution to the field of art, he was bestowed with the second-highest civilian award, Padma Vibhushan in 1986.

There is no doubt that the National Award-winning Alia Bhatt is an exceptional actor. She has given us numerous outstanding performances over the years and one of them has been in the film Kalank. Directed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank is a period romance drama and was released in 2019. 'Kalank' is a 2019 period romantic drama directed by Abhishek Varman and prodced by Karan Johar. The film received a mixed response from audience and critics alike. Despite having the widest Bollywood release in 2019, on over 5300 screens, the film bombed at the box office by collecting a mere Rs. 146.31 cr.

Earlier this year, her Deewani Mastani from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 2016 period romance Bajirao Mastani, featuring Deepika Padukone, also received a shoutout by The Academy.

Further emphasizing on the classical base of the song, Pritam says, "I have collaborated with a lot of Indian musicians, which is very exciting and I rarely get to do this kind of stuff. Also, the young audience today who are 19-20 year old, they don't get to hear Bollywood songs, which are raag based, in classical and in pure kathak form. So, I hope this song works and can promote more of kathak and classical music among the youth."

Meanwhile, released today, Ghar More Pardesiya, produced under Zee Music Company, has garnered over four lakh sixty thousand views on YouTube. The movie stars Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur in lead roles. Directed by Abhishek Verman, the movie, produced by Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala, is slated to release on 19 April 2019.
