Themonologue Sound Librarian lets you easily reorder and organize the programs inside your monologue and has the functionality to save your program library on your computer. In addition to managing your programs, it is used to load factory and bonus libraries distributed by KORG.

Download the Sound Librarian for Win >

Drag and drop the preset data (.molgpreset) onto the monologue Sound Librarian icon to add it to your preset data window. You can view your preset data window by clicking Option > Open Preset Window. Please refer to Operation Manual included in the monologue Sound Librarian for further details.

A brand new bank of bass patches for monologue users. "Dutch Bass" is a new sound library for the KORG monologue by Dutch sound designer Mark Gijsman. This is a synthesizer bass dedicated pack, with lots of fat and crunchy basses to choose from and suitable for any genre of music. It also features some vocal type patches and drum loops for good measure. In addition, each one of the 31 programs includes an original step sequence to take your music to the next level!

This sound pack includes 100 custom presets created over the years by caro Ferre from Spektro Audio. In it you can find everything from melodic presets (bass and lead) to FXs, drum parts and entire sequences. caro Ferre is an electronic artist and maker from So Paulo, Brazil. Besides producing and playing live electronic music, Icaro has also created and worked on many music-related software and hardware projects through his company Spektro Audio. The focus of Icaro's work is to use technology and design to create new ways of expressing creativity.

I have the sysex files on my PC. I have my USB/MIDI cable hooked up. However, the instructions I have refer to software, but do not explain what software I need to make the dump. I tried the search function, but we all know how that turned out.

Thanks Paolo. Yes I should have been clear. I already set the midi device, and it shows up in port mapping. Everything checks out according to what you and Yoozer said, and I do everything as you instructed, but nothing seems to happen. Should the M1 be set to a specific function before I do this? I just have it set to PROG.

- What USB-MIDI interface are you using? Some of them, for my experience, can be a bit weird with older equipment like the M1 - For example, I had an M-Audio Uno that wouldn't transmit anything to the D-50. Also, those cheap no-brand eBay USB-MIDI interfaces ...

- what happens when you send the sysex to the M1?: do you get a "File Progress" window with a green bar that goes fine til the end, or are you getting a "SysEx Output Devices: The port is transmitting data to the device. Wait until the data has been transmitted, and then try again" If that's the case, go to the MIDI-OX "Options" --> "Configure Buffers" and set the "Low Level Output Buffers" to 128 instead of the default 256 (too fast for the M1 to handle)

Yeah, it's a MIDI interface I got cheap off Ebay. On one end is the USB plug. This connects to a small device with 3 LEDs on it, a red one, a green one, and a yellow one. Coming out of it are two MIDI cables. One says MIDI IN, and the other says MIDI OUT. I've tried hooking the IN cable, and the OUT cable in to all 3 of the M1s jacks (IN, OUT, and THRU) and sending the SysEx, but nothing worked.

no, you have to have both MIDI IN and OUT, for different purposes. When you are sending data from the synth to the computer - for example, if you want to save your patches to a file on your computer- you would go from the synth MIDI OUT to the interface MIDI IN.

If you're using Windows XP - go to the Device Manager and make sure it installed correctly... sometimes these cheaper models don't... if you have the classic "yellow exclamation point" it could be clashing with some other software in your computer

Paolo, I checked the device manager, and no problem there. I also tried using Bome SendSX with basically the same result as with MidiOx. The software thinks it sent the SysEx successfully, but nothing changes on the M1. I'm beginning to think there might be a problem with the M1 itself. I'm going to take it to my local music store, and see if they have any better luck, assuming they have the facilities to upload MIDI data.

It is possible that the MIDI IN port on the M1 went bad - however, I am more inclined to say it's the (sorry!) USB-MIDI interface got on eBay. Before you take the M1 to be checked, I would try with a different USB-MIDI interface if you can. Perhaps if you go to your local music store - they will have one for you to test it with...

Like I said before, I used to have a cheaper Uno and it "just didn't work" with another older synth, the Roland D-50. But when I used another MIDI interface, same settings, it worked. It was the MIDI interface ----> -50.htm and scroll to the end to read about it..

ALSO NOTE: SOME MIDI INTERFACES DON'T SEEM TO WORK WITH THE D-50 - This had me scratching my head! I was trying to load patches from Sonar to the D-50 via an M-Audio "MIDISport Uno" interface: I have used this handy little interface extensively with my laptop and never had any problem. BUT, with the D-50, THE "UNO" DOES NOT WORK, no matter what settings on the ttseq.ini file. After an hour of trying and getting MIDI errors, I switched to my older M-Audio USB MIDISport 1x1, and that WORKS FINE. In the past, I used an Opcode MIDI Translator that also worked fine. And I will try with the MIDI on the M-Audio FireWire 1814 and will report about that one.

I stopped by my local music store and spent a few more bucks on an M-Audio Midisport Uno USB/MIDI interface. Turns out that was the problem. The one I got off Ebay must be a piece of junk. Now I can download anything in seconds!!

Posted this on the korg forum but that seems to be dead. Loving gadget. Spent an hour working on some patches on my phone and saved them. When i open the project on my ipad everything sounds fine but my user preset list shows as empty. When i start a new song i can't access that preset again. Is there a way to sync the user presets? Also any way to share user presets with others?

Wow, never thought about it but that sucks, wouldn't be terribly hard to have an "email bank" and "email patch" at the very least, tonestack does that. Nanostudio had that manual patch system too and is one reason I stopped using it.

I don't tend to make presets much in gadget because the devices are simple to tweak but I can see the logic in doing it and with no way to sync them across devices easily is one more step to interfere with making music.

It gets worse. Even if you sync the songs, and then the presets are there, you still need to manually import any samples used for Bilbao and Abu Dhabi onto the other device or there will be no sounds from those presets.

Wish there was more documentation on this app. Like, does bilbao take up more resources than london....does one instance of bilbao with 2 samples take up more or much more than 2 instances of bilbao, each using just one sample...

Gadget suffers from the same problem as a lot of name brand ios apps that are made by big music companies but not developers who actually use ios. Lack of export options, audiobus issues, weird UI and no user preset sharing. It feels like they ported something without understanding the ios work environment.

We are extremely proud to finally offer Volume I for the Minilogue XD. Volume I contains 64 custom patches and includes everything from sweet drones to expressive leads and powerful basses. This collection isn't all sequences/beats and key trigger fun...Although there is plenty of that! We've also included some very playable poly synths and smooth legato leads. Every patch in this collection makes heavy use of the XD's main controllers. The joystick (all 4 directions), aftertouch and velocity all come together to make these sounds fun and extremely expressive. As usual, we prefer to let the patch demonstrations speak for themselves so be sure to check out our Minilogue XD playlist (below) to hear each and every sound (64) in this collection. Or you can head over to our "clickable" patch list page and audition the sounds in a nonlinear fashion. We've also added 10 complimentary presets for a grand total of 74 presets in this collection.

Let me start with a little disclaimer: my mp3 demo of the factory patches consists largely of pads and weird FX sounds, which I picked and focused on in this case. Of course apart from these, the Z1 has lots of bells, flutes, clavs, el-pianos, and all that crap that I find to be too banal. So I don't include them (simple as that).

So! Meet the Korg Z1 aka "Polyphonic Prophecy", which is a kind of misnomer, because it does not incorporate all solutions from the Prophecy (and I sense a slight difference in the tone). It's like a Wavestation of the 21st century, I'd call it. But also very far beyond that. There's no point in presenting its features. They're in such vast numbers, that I feel small. You can look at it as a digital modular, since you can connect sources and destination almost as you wish (well, you CAN'T mix everything with anything like in real modular, but the matrix is quite deep). I was in the middle of creating a patch. I felt like I needed this routing. I dived into the menu, and I found it. I felt that I might improve it by adding another one (and I don't mean basic stuff like frequency cutoff). It was also there. And this step was repeated like... six times. And I found all the routings I needed . It's all there. You can even be a fucking snake charmer, cause Z1 has various scales, including arabic.
