We are looking for an seasoned backend developer to join us full-time to make a product that people love to use. Please contact me if you've got the ambition, autonomy and broad skillset to boost our platform as we scale out
You will:
+ Help solve healthcare’s hidden problem by applying your skills and ingenuity
+ Own your work and be completely responsible for the backend solution to our product
+ Collaborate with the founders and our two mobile gurus to define our technical roadmap
+ Prototype quickly, move beyond your comfort zone and ship what you create
+ Embed yourself in Australia’s start-up community
You must have:
+ Experience setting up and operating the various architectures and services needed to run a reliable, scaleable, and secure backend server on AWS (EC2, S3, Route53, EBS, Lambda, SQS, etc.)
+ Mastery of at least one modern server-side language (NodeJS, etc.)
+ The ability to create clean, secure RESTful API methods and endpoints (including error handling, headers, JSON, CORS, etc.)
+ Solid understand of various database types (MySQL, PostreSQL, MongoDB, etc.), and how to scale them properly
+ Current industry knowledge to leverage the best tools to do the job at hand
+ A desire to dig into code you didn't write, pick up new languages, and teach yourself whatever is necessary to make it work
+ Excitement for our mission and the power of gamification to improve lives
Nice to have:
+ Good knowledge of PHP (Laravel) coding and best practices
+ Familiarity with any other coding languages (python, Matlab, Swift, C#, R, etc.)
+ Experience with web development (HTML5, ReactJS, Angular, etc.)
+ Experience running the backend solution for a frontend mobile app
+ Experience in mobile app development (iOS, Android, Unity, Xamarin, etc.)
+ Experience with game development or gamification
+ Interest in Machine Learning or Data Science (and its use towards real-world applications)
