We are launching Australia's first ever accredited coding bootcamp, and have very exciting projects in the pipeline including corporate training and a development house with more clients than developers at the moment.
I would love to share the vision with Coder Factory with everyone.
Two things to run by everyone;
1. We are currently on the look-out for a developer in Node/Angular/Ruby. 2 of these languages together are fine but all 3 would be amazing.
The role can be either as a teacher, a full-time developer or a hybrid of teaching and a dedicated developer. We also have the option of 2 hour lectures for 4 weeks in total on a specific language - which means you can have time to teach and work full-time freelancing or other commitments.
It would be great to have a chat about the role with anyone who is interested, despite the role you currently have which most likely you are already enjoying. A light chat is all that is needed.
2. I'm actually also on the lookout for mentors for the students of our upcoming bootcamp. If you, or any of your colleagues, are looking to give back and pass on your knowledge and skills to the next generation of developers, I'd love to chat.
Coder Factory Mentor Program
One-off mentor session for the class;
- visit at a lunch time that suits you
- speak to the students on a topic of your choice (your career, why you enjoy your work as a developer, demonstration of your work etc)
- have lunch with the students and answer their questions
- Ongoing mentor for a single student.
- meet fortnightly or monthly (your preference)
- give advice and support
- answer questions when you have spare time

A bit about the course: The Fast Track course is Australia's first accredited coding bootcamp. It's a six month Diploma of Software Development that gives graduates the skills and knowledge they need to start a great career as a developer.
In brief: Full time, intensive program (4 x 5 week terms)
- In demand technologies
- Rails + MEAN stack
- Computer science education
- computer networking, database design, data structures & algorithms etc Developer skills
- Agile development, developer tools, collaboration and communication, dev-ops
- Focus on quality code, testing and peer reviews 4 week work placement on a real development team (final 4 weeks of course).
If anyone is interested in either 1 or 2, or hopefully both, it would be wonderful to chat :)
Looking forward to hearing back from you guys soon! And also, any feedback with anything, please let me know.
Kind Regards,
Dan
