benchmarking deployment issue

anyone know why I keep getting a "apr_socket_recv: Connection reset by peer (54)" when benchmarking node behind nginx with ab? This is my first real node deployment, so maybe I'm missing something. I have an express app being run by forever and nginx in front as a proxy, but I can't get ab to successfully run
