Hi guys,

I know you'd heard about this a while back when we were first
exploring it, but it's my pleasure to officially announce the
Microsoft Driver for Node.JS for SQL Server is now available as a
preview. It's Open Source, it's hosted on Github, and we accept (and
welcome!) contributions from the community.

Go check it out:

Cheers,

Linux support is on our roadmap. :) This is just a very early preview
so we can get feedback about our API from you guys! :)

That's excellent news and will definitely make SQL Server more attractive to some. I was a bit worried when I saw it's based on the native Windows driver :)

This is awesome!

ms-sql server is probably my favorite rdbms. t-sql is very powerful ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transact-SQL )

In the past, I've had a lot of success using stuff like:

Fantastic. I guess I can retire https://github.com/cretz/node-tds now as I haven't had much time to work on it anyways.

Yeah, it's great isn't it. WebMatrix 2 looks pretty nice too. Just have to try and get my work laptop upgraded to Win7 from xp. Before the next windows version comes out. :)

Could you change "now" into "soon"? It's very early days and Windows only for the moment!
