Hi there,

I'm on Windows 8 64-bit. When I try to install either node 32 or 64-bit Node.js give me the following message -

Warning 1909. Could not create Shortcut Node.js command prompt.link. Verify that the destination folder exists and that you can access it.

Once I click OK, the installation continues and at the end installer says Node.js has been successfully installed.

What this means? Did Node.js got installed or not?

Regards

Joe Green

When you open a command prompt, can you run `node --version`?

Yes, I can. It returns v0.10.31. Does this mean it is working fine.

Yea, I've never setup node on Windows but it looks to me like that warning means it couldn't place a shortcut, presumably on your desktop. I'm not sure what the shortcut would be for but I can assume maybe it launches CMD straight into the the Node REPL shell.
