Xreferencing pull requests from commits

I find it fairly diffucult to get to the pull request of a commit. Can
we do something to help it, either by manually adding the pull request
number in the commit message or ask GitHub folks if automatic reverse
linking can be done?

(I just want to say thanks to folks in
https://github.com/joyent/node/issues/8088, which makes
https://github.com/joyent/node/commit/437c2f438335541084136480a9a5308075dd3dfd
happen.)

You probably want to suggest this in an issue on the node github repository; The maintainers work there directly.

Well, this is a meta issue and I have the feeling that if I am opening
this as an GitHub issue the maintainers will ask me to do this here.

Yes I know this list has become more like a help forum but that doesn't
mean the maintainers ignore this, as far as I can tell.
