I haven't found very many Node.js jobs in New Zealand either, though
there does seem to be one or two out there. :) I know Francois works
for Mozilla and uses Node.js so it might be worth getting in touch
with him (Francois: wanna ping Sean and say hi?)

Yep, I agree. It's something that just seems to fit with my brain
quite well. Although if I really think about it, it's a combination of
two things for me. (i) the async nature as you suggested, but also
(ii) the powerful language it is sitting in. JavaScript really does
have so much power to it - I usually describe it as Lisp in C's
clothing. Just being able to do things like .bind() or pass functions
around as first class objects - it's pretty cool.

Yes, we're quiet, but we're still small. I also fear that NZ hasn't
yet caught the bug but I suspect the tide will start turning soon. :)
