Hey Node users NZ;

I'm Matthew, I tinker a bit with this and that. I live in wellington and work in web. I've slowly come to like javascript because of how easy it is to build things for a browser.

I've started a project called firehose based on node in response to google reader closing down. I don't know how it's going to look, but it'll likely have a MarionetteJS/Backbone frontend with some d3 hooks, and some kind of rss/atom reader on the back.

It's nothing much to look at right now, it's still earlydays.

Just wanted to say hi, any meetups in Wellington I'd be happy to pop along to.

Cheers
~Matthew.

Yes, you are a tinkerer! :) Good to try lots of different
technologies. (I used to work with Matthew at Catalyst for those that
don't know.)

I think we all did! :) Let us know when you have a working version
that is shareable with the world and we'll take a look.

My own interpretation for the "Google Reader" replacement is here. Run
it as a cron on your server and just make the MAILTO your own email
address. I'm quite enjoying it since it emails me links to new posts 4
times a day. I just skim the links but If I don't have time to read
them I just delete the email. Am already getting back on top of my
subscriptions. :) Uses LevelDB as storage to check if you've seen the
links before:

We keep talking about it ... but nothing happened. Why don't we just
set a time and date now and no matter who can or can't make it, it
goes ahead anyway. I'll send a new post shortly with details. :)

Cheers,
Andy
