Unable to clear email configuration via Nodechef dashboard

We are using Parse 2.8.2 with nc. We have an email configuration we are trying to set via `emailAdapter` in `appconfig.js`, which we upload to our cloud code directory.

The app logs show appconfig is being run correctly including updating the emailAdapter, however the emailAdapter being used for password reset/verify is still the nodechef built-in one, which seems to be determined by the nc web dashboard. The docs say this dashboard configuration can be cleared by simply clearing all the fields in the dashboard and saving, but no matter what settings are cleared, we receive a browser notification that the field cannot be empty, and the email config is never cleared.

Can an NC developer familiar with the NC/Parse/email configuration settings please look into this and help us bypass the default NC email configuration so we can use our own via appconfig.js? This is urgent as our provider is switching by the end of the month.
