Hi Campers,

nodecamp is coming up net weekend which made us realize we should
start planing soon.

We wanted to share some information with you that may be useful:

* in case there's something on your mind, we have a mailing list for
discussions, announcing talks, etc:
http://groups.google.com/group/nodecampeu

* we've also put together a little map. (bit.ly/mBvp6L) you should be
able to add stuff to it in case we forgot something.

* this is a camp and it will be a little rough around the edges. We'd
like everybody to participate in some way: a talk or workshop or maybe
just picking up some empty beer bottles.

* apropos rough around the edges: don't expect spotless internet
access. If you have a 3G router, it'd be great if you could bring it
along

* There will be a pre camp social event on Friday:

Gottes grüne Wiese
Bismarckstraße 53
50672 Köln At

(It's on the map) We'll be around starting at 18:00

* Saturday: doors open at 9:00 for breakfast. We'd like to start the
camp proper with introductions at around 10:00 and then put together
the timetable for the rest of the day.

Saturday:

9:00 Doors open
10:00 Camping starts
19:00 BBQ starts

Sunday:

the same, "offical end" is 17:00

The address is:

Coworking Cologne
Deutz-Mühleheimer-Str. 129
51063 Köln

Subway Station KoelnMesse on Lines 3&4

In case you get lost or have some other emergency you can reach us:

Tim: 0179 1001 709 (t...@kuriositaet.de)

Looking forward to seeing all of you!

Yeah, I have no idea who added two ATMs to the map. They are plentyful
all around town :)

Hi,

Thanks for the map, very useful :)

Just a question : what's the best way to go from Cologne/Bonn airport to the Trainstation Köln-Deutz, for instance ?

Thanks

Excellent question, my apologies that we did not think to answer that
already:

There is a subway (S-Bahn) that goes directly from the airport to
Koeln-Deutz and further on to Hauptbahnhof, the main station in the
center of town.

The line is S13, it departs every 20 minutes, takes 12 minutes to
Deutz and costs €2.50

Follow the Deutsche Bahn signs when you're at the airport and check
the timetables, there are also some other connections to town, but
their schedule is more intermittant.

This is by far the quickest and cost effective way to get to town from
the airport.

BTW: In case someone is considering taking the train without paying,
be warned that this is the trainline that is most often controlled by
undercover ticket inspectors...

Cheers,
-tim
