Hello all,

I saw in previous posts, and other places, Node-RED is used commercially by some, installable on IBM Bluemix, also think I heard in Nick's video that AT&T is using node-red in their IoT hosted stack, here : https://flow.att.com/
  • If our company wants to embed Node-RED into our applications, what are the commercial terms to do so?
  • And what are the implications now that node-red have been given to the Javascript Foundation, like will Nick and Dave in IBM still be able to put in so much effort on the roadmap, etc?
Could someone point me the the right direction?

(You can probably tell, I love Node-RED !)

I suggest you read the LICENSE terms for the project which uses Apache:

From what I understand there is no license change associated with the switch to the Javascript Foundation.

Hi,

It's fully open-source under the Apache-2.0 license so those are the terms...
the copyright has now transferred the the JS foundation - but apart from that no other change.

Hopefully no big implications of moving to JS foundation other than that it is now as open as we can make it, and the governance should get a bit more formalised. We're not quite sure the form(s) this will take yet, but will be sure to let everyone know as soon awe work anything out. Nick and I certainly intend to keep Node-RED on a growing path, and aren't planning on being diverted, but looking forwards to the continued ideas and contributions from the now wider community.
