Hi

I was thinking -  I have a Raspberry Pi controlling everything in the house - heating/lighting etc with Node-Red…. And with a touch screen (5”).

would be to have that touch screen and the PI embedded in the wall – with options to control heating etc..

But…when we are not in the UK the place is a holiday rental..

So my question is – is it yet possible in Node-Red Dashboard to go full screen (assuming a touch screen so no keys) with no opportunity to break out of it – and no URL bar etc… i.e. end-user mode with nothing more than access to buttons and info I put on the UI ???

I could see a lot of uses for this if possible - but no good if you can get out of it...

Pete.

Hi Pete,

Remember it's just a web page. There are plenty of 'kiosk' mode apps out there that will serve a web page in the manner you want.

We haven't tested with any specific ones, but that's the approach I'd take.

Nick

Hi Peter,

If you are using an Android or iOS device, just click "Add to Home Screen" after you open dashboard in browser.
Then you can launch the node-red dashboard "app" directly without browser like container(URL bar).

Guess this is the easiest way to reach it.

Thanks,

there are apps on the android app store to auto start a specific app on start... eg "Autostart - no root" I mentioned in my termux writeup, and also apps to set android kiosk mode .
