Cannot install node-red-node-arduino on mac osx

Hello, I'm trying to install the node-red-node-arduino but after digiting "npm install node-red-node-arduino" in the correct directory, I find two errors, even if the installation seems to proceed:

node-pre-gyp ERR! Tried to download(404): https://github.com/EmergingTechnologyAdvisors/node-serialport/releases/download/4.0.7/serialport-v4.0.7-node-v57-darwin-x64.tar.gz 

node-pre-gyp ERR! Pre-built binaries not found for seria...@4.0.7 and no...@8.11.1 (node-v57 ABI) (falling back to source compile with node-gyp)

Anyway, after restarting node red there's no trace of the arduino nodes. I'm working on a mac osx yosemite (v. 10.10.5), node.js version 8.11.1 and npm version 2.15.12. After the installation of the arduino pkg, when I start node-red there's this string: [node-red-node-arduino/arduino] Error: Cannot find module 'serialport' (line:6)  

Please help me!

which directory did you install into ? - what command did you use ? and what does the install actually report at the end...

  mine says

The command is: sudo npm install node-red-node-arduino

shouldn't need sudo... 

and there should be a couple more lines at the end of the install - saying ok or err...

I used “sudo” because if I don’t do it, the installation reports more errors saying “try as root user”.. so with sudo I solved it. But it’s not enough. Still have the problem.
