Hi All

I have published a simple mapping node that lets you put blobs on a map like this



It's a contrib node as it's really for use as-is , and doesn't quite fit the mould of other nodes yet... You will notice it has no inputs or outputs... just contributing a web page endpoint - that you then point a websocket at...  (much easier than having to rebuild all the websocket code again :-)
If you are on Node-RD v0.13.4 you will see some simple examples of use in the Library (once installed).

What mapping service provider does it use?

uses the leaflet api in front of OSM and other selected providers from 
https://leaflet-extras.github.io/leaflet-providers/preview/

That might work well as an extension to Node-red-contrib-ui?

But one thing at a time, so not in the short term.

Dave, you need an extra pair of arms so you can work faster!!! ;-)

Nice though, I commented on the UI group that I want to connect up OwnTracks to it as does Peter. I need to set up an OwnTracks end point first though, not sure when I'll get time to do that now that summer is almost upon us.

Ha! Cool! Maybe you need two extra pairs of arms then so that you can get the new UI out even faster. It is great to see a real buzz around NR these days, seems to be accelerating. Can't wait.

Drat, I knew I shouldn't have automated it using Node-Red! Hang on, let me redirect it - now, what was the MQTT message to get it to turn left?

Hi,

There are some issues with MapQuest maps in Worldmap node (MapQuest OSM tiles and roads selection). Wolrdmap gives just tiles saying: "As of July 11, 2016 direct tile access has been discontinued".

hi - what does that mean ?  
If a msg arrive with a name, lat, lon, bearing and speed properties it will pot on the map with a line indicating the bearing and length proportional to the speed.
