Not directly node-red related but I hope it is ok to ask here.

I am looking for an android app that provides a widget that can be put
on the android home screen to provide a numeric display and a switch,
where the display and switch subscribe to an mqtt topic and the switch
can publish a new value when the switch is clicked.

I cannot seem to find one that provides these features. mqtt-widgets
comes close but does not allow the widget to go on the home screen, as
far as I can see.

Alternatively is there an alternative route I can use to get a similar
functionality? Mqtt is interfacing with node red at the other end
obviously.

Hi,

You may want to try tasker with the mqtt client plugin :

Tasker is able to create widgets for everything you want, and update the widget according to some code.

Hope this will help,

That is an interesting idea, thanks Jérôme

I will report back when I have had a chance to try it.
