How to get input from Microphone

Hi All,

I am newbie to Node-red, Tried some samples in Node-Red. I am now thinking of connecting microphone to Node-Red and using speech to text Watson API and print the text in logs. Any idea how I can integrate Microphone of my PC in Node-Red ?

Thanks Walter,

I understand that using this NPM module, I will be able to get Mic stream in node js. I tried installing this module but i don't see any new node in Node-Red.
Again, sorry, I might be getting it wrong. Could you please elaborate little bit more ?

I'm afraid you'll need to wrap it into some code to make a node-red module. Check the documentation on the node-red website and also examine how others have built theirs. I did this with my as yet unreleased node for a barcode scanner. It's not too hard (I managed it :-) ).

Hi Siddhesh,

I just did read your request and i wanted to say, that im working (thinking atm.) on building a set of node-red-nodes to work together with a lite version of jasper. As soon as i got Jasper working im planning to break it down so Node-red can be used to receive call's from Jasper-lite and can handle it future.

It should work something how the gpio-node works.

Still not sure yet on what kind of settings will be needed to set it up but my idea is to have a term string to tell when jasper-lite would trigger the event.
