Hello.

I made a small node-red package which allows to read data from Oregon Scientific sensors using RF433 modules connected to raspberry pi.

If someone have an interest you can install it from npm and test.

Hi Pavel,

Have you deal with the transmitter modul also?

Hello.

No, this was not in my plans.

Best regards,

As a matter of interest, which sensors are you using and do you have a list of working sensors???

Cheers

Mike

I tested it only with THGN132N sensor but it should work with other sensors as well.

The radio data decoder (ook.js) is converted from the OregonPi project on github (RcOok.cpp) and the sensor data layouts are taken from another javascript library.

If you can afford it, a RFXtrx is a ready-made-fully-functioning-send-and-receive device that handles this and much, much more

Yup, and a great piece of kit it is too if you need multi-device 433MHz support. Great range as well, it reaches from our loft right out to the outhouse. Not forgetting Max's great efforts in maintaining the driver nodes.

Yes, but it costs more than the rapberry itself.

Yes, a lot more it is true. Though it is still cheaper than using the "hubs" provided by some of the 433MHz vendors such as LightwaveRF. And id transmits too. I'm using it with kit from at least 3 vendors including LightwaveRF, HomeEasy EU and Nexa. Unlike proprietary units, it means that you can mix and match thanks to Node-RED so my LightwaveRF remote control can operate HomeEasy plugs and visa versa, the Nexa doorbell can also operate plugs from anyone and so on.

So if you are investing in 433MHz, it doesn't work out so bad in the end.
