Hi All. I need some help.
What is the best or easy way to send and receive notifications between node-red and Android?
Is there a Android App able to receive notifications from mqtt broker?

Regards

I use 'Pushover' push messages, efficient and easy to set up, with different priorities of alerts - ie, just quietly display a message, or the other end of the scale is playing an alert which doesn't stop until you acknowledge it. The best £3.90p I've spent - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.superblock.pushover&hl=en_GB
The pushover node make setup easy.

I don't use Android but I settled on Telegram on iOS & desktop after using all of the similar tools. It is available on all mobile and desktop platforms and web and it is pretty easy to build your own "bots" using Node-RED as well. It is free to use for most personal/family use cases. Notifications can be to an individual or to a group as needed.

Just entering into the thread, Yes, you can do that. There is a dedicated Node for this purpose in the node-red-contrib-telegrambot

Telegram is working fine & fast (I think I also heard the encryption of data communication and handling is very strong, if so, this is good)

You also have support in NR for Notify-My-Android

(Also Prowl that I am using is working very well but I do not think Android is supported by Prowl)

I've been using "pushbullet" successfully for awhile.

Yes indeed, it works well and is generally very quick. Occasionally I get a bit of a gap between trigger and notification but rarely more than a couple of seconds at most, normally it is almost instantaneous. Yes, encryption can be used and I use Node-RED to provide a couple of bot interfaces, it works well though it takes a short while to get your head around the interactions.

I had to give up with PushBullet because it doesn't handle lots of messages well and the client backs up the messages and slows down. Telegram never has those issues.

You can also use the Maker service in IFTT. You push a message to the Maker service in IFTT and IFTT triggers an android or iOS notification. You can push 3 variables via the service as well.

I used this before. I send messages from Node Red which triggers shopping list updates in Evernote via IFTT.
