We are searching for someone that could build the below system for us and enable us to build more. I have a little bit of time in researching what Node Red is and I think this can be done but I don’t have the time to put it together. We are negotiable in compensation, give us a proposal. We can provide a development environment you can access remotely, in this case we could also supply all necessary hardware. If you would prefer to work locally to you this could also work and we could assist with providing necessary equipment. Timeline for the project would be fairly relaxed, something someone can do in their spare time.

Read status from a thermostat and provide to BACnet/IP
  • Present temperature
  • Active setpoints
  • Occupied / Unoccupied status (if possible)
  • Active cool/heat status (what is it currently doing, if possible)
Write command to a thermostat from BACnet/IP
  • Occupied command, unoccupied command
  • Occupied and unoccupied setpoints
  • Fan run enable when system is otherwise not running
Thermostats we would like to focus on are one of the below. At the moment we are leaning toward the Honeywell but looking at Node Red plugins all should be possible.
  • Honeywell; something from the Total comfort connect line such as the TH9320WF5003 or TH8321WF1001.
  • Ecobee
  • Nest

Dear Scott,

I suppose you would need rather deep knowledge about BACnet so in combination with Node-RED, I imagine this contact could be a good starting point:

Mr Klaus Landsdorf is the author of node-red-contrib-bacnet
