Hi,

I want to use an exec function to call mplayer to play a file trex1.mp3

Where do I need to put the mp3 file and what do I put in the exec node please?

I have the mp3 file in the .node-red directory, and I have tried:

"mplayer /home/trex1.mp3"

but this gives me the debug message "mplayer: could not connect to socket mplayer: No such file or directory Failed to open LIRC support. You will not be able to use your remote control. File not found: 'home/trex1.mp3' Failed to open home/trex1.mp3."

I know I have done this before, but am missing something vital.

I am using a PiB+ with @andysc's eskills v22

Thanks

Lucy

HI Lucy,

If you've put the mp3 file under your .node-red directory, then that's what you need to provide the exec node - so I would guess /home/pi/.node-red/trex1.mp3

You should also be able to give an absolute filename.

for example, if you keep your media files in ~/Videos , you can use

/home/josh/Music/trex1.mp3

(well, assuming your username is josh :)
