Hi all,
I created officegen in 2013 as a learning project for me to learn node.js.
It started as a patch fast coding based on a C++ code that I done few years before for a client.
It turned out that there's a lot of demand for this project but shortly after I founded a startup and I was too busy to maintain it.
Now I'm free again but I still need money to pay my rent, etc, so I'm doing freelancing jobs.
I'm thinking for a long time about a lot of new features and ideas for officegen, for example:
- Browser support.
- Import existing Office documents.
- Theme support.
- More document types? (to finish the OpenOffice support, for example, GoogleDocs?)
The problem is time since that I need first to do freelancing jobs for living.
So I'm thinking to raise money in
opencollective.com (or something similar so I can work full time (or more time) only on officegen to turn it from the patchy status that it's now to full powerful project as I can really do.
What do you think?
Will you give money for it? how much?
And the most important question: what features would you like to see in officegen?
thanks,
Ziv
