Amazon's RDS is moving to a set of 2019 certificates, and I notice that they aren't in lib/protocol/ssl_profiles.js. AWS recommends migrating by Feb 5 (though the cert doesn't technically expire until Mar 5). Will the new certs be added and released by then?

Merry Christmas!

I'd be interested to know a release date as well.  My company is already well into testing the new certs.

Looks like this is being tracked ( https://github.com/mysqljs/mysql/issues/2281 ), but a new version was supposed to be released 2 months ago?

We are also interested in the release date. The lack of communication on behalf of the repo owner is obnoxious, particularly now that we're less than a month away from the cutoff.

I wanted to ask about this on the repo itself but I was unable to, and the organization is deleting comments from people who ask about this?

I am also concerned about this and frustrated by the lack of ability to comment on the repo, combined with the apparent reluctance to give any indication as to when this time-sensitive fix will be released along with the deletion of any comments relating to any release.  Without this fix, this module will lose significant ease of use when it comes to interacting with RDS.

In the short term I ended up biting the bullet and implementing the proposed fix manually in my affected repositories, however I would have vastly preferred to have been able to just update the MySQL module especially considering this change is very minimal and required very soon.

I don't have a horse in this race anymore [1], but since I'm still allowed to comment on the issue, I just left a comment and will try to help if time allows.

[1] I'm original author of node-mysql, but I don't use node.js or MySQL anymore these.
