Not sure how to do this? The network synchronization in grayed out.
Would like to use this along side of Cubase or Live. Any Rewire
options in the future? That would be the best way to integrate this
with DAWs.

Rewire really isn't necessary. It's purely MIDI commands and can
easily be routed

In Live

Open Nodal then open Live. In Live create a new MIDI track with the
instrument you want yo use. Then click the I-O button on the right
hand side of the screen, or alternatively press ctrl/cmd+alt+I. This
will open the Inputs sections, on the channel you created click on the
first/top box and select nodal output. In the next box can then select
a specific channel to receive MIDI information from or leave it set to
All channels if you only want to use one instrument of select the
specific channel for the instrument you want to use. The instrument
channels can be set in nodal in the instrument menu (looks like a
saxophone).

In Logic insert a new Software Instrument. This should receive the
MIDI information being outputted by nodal. You can send to 16 specific
MIDI channels in Nodal and can select which channel you want the
instrument to receive MIDI from in the Instrument drop down on the
left hand side of the screen above the Sends and Inserts. I'm not
sure how to select to receive inputs only from Nodal in Logic yet but
there should be a way.

Cubase has a similar drop-down on the left hand side of the screen to
Logic.

Hope that helps out.

Isn't the issue sync? It's been a while, but I seem to recall that the
last time I tried this hitting the transport in Logic or in Nodal
failed to trigger the other...

I have no problem sending MIDI or receiving MIDI other than it only
sends/receives on all channels because the option to pick channels is
grayed out. The issue is sync. The sync option is grayed out thus
there is no way to sync it to another app. Also, Rewire is much more
than audio. It's MIDI to. A much better way to synchronize
applications than with MIDI. It's much much precise as far as timing.
