Audit Information for Sci Academy

Dear Friends of Sci Academy:

As you may be aware, 2010 marked an important milestone for Sci
Academy -- we became a stand-alone school, no longer affiliated with
New Orleans Charter Science and Math High School (Sci High) and
independent from the Advocates for Science and Mathematics Education,
our governing board from August 2008 – May 2010. On May 20, the state
Board of Elementary and Secondary Education approved a charter change
leading to Sci Academy’s independence. (For details, please see letter
from BESE.)

Sci Academy now has its own board and the Advocates for Science and
Mathematics Education is no longer its governing body. To further
legalize our independence, Sci Academy filed new Articles of
Incorporation and applied for a new 501c3 in May 2010.

Due to our prior relationship with Sci High, our 2008-2009 audit
contains financial information pertaining to both schools. To avoid
confusion about our relationship with Sci High, we have decided to
remove this audit from our website. It will be available upon
request.

Please note that future financial information that pertains to Sci
Academy will be posted on this site.
