NOC 0.3 RELEASE

NOC 0.3 is finally out. 0.3 RELEASE is the next major step in product
evolution, seriously extending functionality and increasing usability.

Major Changes:
Performance Management
--------------------------------------
0.3 RELEASE introduces new Performance Management module. PM extends
the Fault Management (FM) module with ability to measure performance
of the network and applications. PM allows to control interfaces load,
temperature, voltage, memory usage and much more. All performance
characteristics are automatically evaluated against given thresholds.
Visual control via charts is also possible.

Distributed architecture allows to scale beyond the thousands of
performance agents and beyond hundreds of thousands performance
characteristics.

0.3 RELEASE contains basic set of TCP probes (http, ssh, smtp), SNMP-
probe (universal and snmp-interface), process probe (controls
processes' VSIZE and RSS) as well as postgresql probe (Various
database-related performance characteristics). Basic set of probes
sufficient to monitor the status and the performance of NOC itself.

PM module is fully integrated with the FM and is able to generate the
corresponding events in the FM.

Service Activation
--------------------------
Added support for 5 new platforms: Zyxel.ZyNOSv2 (DSLAM ZyXEL),
HP.iLO2 (Boards iLO2 servers HP), Cisco.NXOS (NX-OS for Cisco Nexus
7000), Cisco.AireOS (wireless access point controllers), Raisecom. ROS
(Raisecom ethernet switches).

Several scripts can use SNMP when available. As a result,
significantly increased the speed of the scripts like get_version.

SAE FM generates events with the completion status of periodic tasks.

Periodic Task can be rescheduled via Pariodic Task setup form.

There is a new family of scripts: get_dhcp_binding, get_local_users,
has_local_user

Memory and thread leak in activator is fixed, increasing overall
stability

Fault Management
---------------------------
Added integration with the PM and SA.

When you view the events received from the SNMP trap, additional field
descriptions from MIB can be shown

Added new MIBs, event classes and rules/

Address Space Management
------------------------------------------
Added Description field in the VRF and VRF Group

When viewing a block of addresses, a list of users responsible for
address and block allocations shown

DNS
-------
Now you can control the time of the end of the domain delegation.
Field "Paid Till" zones can be filled out manually, or populated bythe
periodic task dns.update_domain_expiration, which will synchronize the
field with the bases registrars.

Notifications sent with a list of domains expiring in 30 days.

Now you can import a list of zones from a text file.

Improved handling of higher-level domains.

The contents of articles in the CSV format can now be sorted by
clicking on the table headings.
