At the Institute of Computer Engineering the Chair of Adaptive Dynamic Systems offers, 2 positions as

PhD/PostDoc in Embedded Multicore Architectures

(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

The position is to be filled as soon as possible with a contract period till 31.06.2019 with the option for extension. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification (e.g. PhD or Habilitation).

The Chair of Adaptive Dynamic Systems conducts research in the fields of reconfigurable computing, networks-on-Chip (NoCs) and memory hierarchies for multicore architectures, methods and algorithms for application parallelization, simulators and virtual platforms for application- and architecture exploration, hardware/software co-design and runtime systems. Typical application domains are e.g., signal-/image processing, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), Industry 4.0 or robotics.

Tasks:

  • Research and development in designing and programming embedded heterogeneous multicore systems, e.g. for automotive and robotic applications
  • Contributing, administrating and reporting in (inter-)national research and development projects
  • Presenting results at international conferences
  • Close cooperation with academic and industrial cooperation partners

Requirements:

  • University degree (M.Sc., Diploma) in either computer science, engineering or any related natural science
  • Very good programming skills in C, C++
  • Very good command of German and English (written and spoken)
  • High self-motivation, commitment, and flexibility as well as the ability to work in and contribute to an international team
  • Experience in the following areas is desired: computer architecture, field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), hardware description languages (e.g. VHDL or Verilog) and signal and image processing
