A big thank you for all of you who supported TEAM NOAA's efforts on
raising funds for the research towards stamping out Multiple Sclerosis
once and for all.
Our 150 mile bike ride started out wonderful as the weather was picture
perfect on day one. Compliments on the great weather were generously given
to TEAM NOAA (like we really had anything to do with that!) and all of us
just knew the perfect weather would continue for day two, according to the
forecast....NOT!
The one common theme it seems with this yearly bike ride, weather is not
kind for very long and the forecast for us usually is a bit off. On day
two, it was around 20+ degrees cooler "off" and the winds were howling! We
all woke up on day two to cold, cloudy and windy conditions....the goose
bumps were many and as you can imagine, we didn't get many compliments!
It was so cold and so miserable that by rest stop 3, if it had started to
rain, as it appeared it would, I was resigned to end my ride. My team
mates kept me going and to be honest, the cold made us finish on day two
in a shorter amount of time. There was no lingering on the rest
stops...you had to keep moving to keep warm. Pickle juice kept our cold
muscles from cramping and of course banana's all around!
So, in the end, we raised $1,525.00 for the fight against MS. That
wouldn't be possible without all of your generosity, and so we deeply
thank all of you.
