Jeg bruker DIVA PPP hjemme for å holde liv i lange 3270 telnet
sesjoner uavhengig av fysiske oppkoblinger. Eller sagt på en annen
måte, når jeg bruker 3270 telnet via min ISDN Telenor Nextel
forbindelse så forsetter jeg der jeg slapp sist uten at jeg trenger å
gå igjennom omfattende av/påloggings prosedyrer hver gang. DIVA PPP er
satt opp til å time ut og koble ned min ISDN forbindelse etter 2-3
minutter og kobler så opp automatisk når jeg så skal jobbe videre og
jeg beholder min 3270 telnet-sesjon dagen lang med minimalt forbruk av
tellerskritt.

Dette fungerer rimelig bra (henger seg opp av og til), men jeg føler
at jeg har liten kontroll over hva som skjer. Det er for
"transparent". Den kobler opp automatisk ved boot, jeg kan ikke koble
ned manuelt når jeg vil, kunne hatt en indikasjon/klokke (på taskbar)
som forteller hvor lang tid der er igjen til han automatisk kobler ned
og hva han ellers driver på med, etc.

Så, mitt spørsmål er om andre har noen erfaring med DIVA PPP, og om
der eventuelt finnes andre tilsvarende produkter?

1. Introduction
================
DIVA PPP is an add-on product for Eicon Technology's DIVA for
Windows 95 and DIVA for Windows NT. With DIVA PPP, you can link
a remote personal computer to a corporate network, as if locally
connected, over ISDN. Inactivity timers and spoofing ensure that
physical connections are used only when needed, and standards
support guarantees reliable connectivity.

When you install DIVA PPP, an "Eicon DIVA PPP" adapter is added
to the list of network adapters in the Network Control Panel.
DIVA PPP functions like a standard LAN adapter, however, it
automatically connects to a remote network through ISDN,
rather than a traditional LAN.

DIVA PPP's wizard-based configuration lets you easily set up an ISDN
connection. Moreover, context-sensitive online help
is available for all items in the DIVA PPP Configuration Wizard.

2. Installation Requirements
=============================

Since DIVA PPP is an add-on for DIVA for Windows 95 and
DIVA for Windows NT, the following conditions have to be met
before you can install DIVA PPP:

* a DIVA adapter must be installed
* DIVA for Windows 95 (version 2.0 or higher) or
DIVA for Windows NT (version 2.1 or higher) must be
installed and configured
