Hello Everyone,
We are happy to report again more new programming and new stuff on
the Rock-it. And a little giveaway also. Lane Quigley has posted his
38th show here on the Rock-it and now can be heard in the Archives
website. Also, We have a new flashback show to tell you about which we
put on when we received a request from a Rock-it listener Karen Neufeld
wanted to hear some sounds of El Monte Legion Stadium which was a main
venue of great acts back in the 50's... we'll we think we came pretty
close by entering the flashback show #161 --
"The sounds of Los Angeles" with Lane Quigley. With no further ado
here is the latest stuff here on the Rock-it and the playlists.

Lane Quigley and the Memory Lane show
come up with a latest Rock-it program.
Rock-it #208
The new MEMORY LANE SHOW ffeatures the usual assortment of great forgotten
and obscure gems from the fifties and early sixties. Host Lane Quigley
answers listener requests from around the globe, and includes some
surprises along the way.
In addition to the great music, you'll hear Smokey Robinson talk about
the difficulties Motown faced getting off the ground, you'll hear Lane's
tribute to recently deceased arranger and composer Jack Nietsche, you'll
hear the original R&B versions of two different songs that went on to
become 60's garage band classics, and the original version of a Girl Group
song that was later recorded by the Beatles (with, of course, a slight
change in lyrics).
You'll also be treated to three different pairs of songs featuring first a
vocal group, and then a solo effort by their lead singer.
Near the end of the program, you'll have a chance to participate in a
poll. A listener from Western Australia challenged the Memory Lane Show
audience to vote on which version of a Girl Group classic was better -so
give the show a listen and cast your vote at MemoryL...@aol.com.
