which database solution? Postgre?

I am going to set up an e-commerce solution on a linux-box, probably
with perl, and I'm wondering which database to use. ('been looking at
postgresql, and think this looks good). Have anyone out there tried this
? Anyone know which has best speed and so one ?

I did some project on MySQL. Very efficient. You could also wait for
DB2 which might be very powerful and stable...
